On September 5, 2024, Super Typhoon Yagi 超强颱風“摩羯” approached Macau. Supported by JCDecaux Macau, the Civil Protection Operations Centre disseminated Typhoon Signal No. 8 alert in Chinese, Portuguese, and English across 72 locations, including City Information Panels and Bus Shelters, via the Macau Street Furniture Emergency Alert System (EMAs) to safeguard the public.
Two hours before Signal No. 8 was issued, the digital screens on our Street Furniture displayed an "IMMINENT" alert, urging residents to complete their preventive measures. When the signal was officially in effect, an "IN EFFECT" alert advised everyone to stay indoors as far as possible.
As part of the Macau Smart City Project, our EMAs initiative is dedicated to enhancing public safety and ensuring effective communication within the community. We are honoured to contribute to a safer Macau for everyone.
